Whilst I had fun trying out all of the shoot modes over the course of the week, ing that only F1.8, 27mm equivalent, 40MP lens is capable of shooting RAW files when utilising Pro shooting mode. It was day with hard natural light, intermixed with areas of shade between the architecture the constantly changing environment made it the perfect place to get stuck into Pro mode push Huawei P20 Pro's capabilities. with Pro mode offering both auto and manual options for shutter speed, ISO, aperture, exposure compensation and white balance at easy touch of screen, I was able to set P20 Pro to ISO priority and set compensation of -2 and concentrate my efforts on focus and composition.. Whilst I found setting up the image on P20 Pro took little while mainly due to the focusing taking little more effort it was able to track AF-S mode, making processing time between shots equally as seamless as DSLR.. Comparing similar shots between Huawei P20 Pro and Fuji X100T, I was impressed with the amount of detail Jasmin's skin. P20 Pro also struggled with the skin tones Auto White Balance mode against the orange wall making the skin appear little green and it did not take too much effort to fix this in Adobe Lightroom once downloaded into my computer via Huawei's HiSuite transfer software... P20 Pro started to come into its own in the middle of the week, when we took to Tyrrhenian Sea with boat cruise of Amalfi coastline. In extreme lighting conditions, Huawei P20 Pro produced impressive, high contrast images of Jasmin on the boat, picking up the nuances of skin highlights and shadows so there was plenty of contrast in the images. Comparing similar shots between P20 Pro and X100T, the image is still softer that Fuji version, and sharp enough to pick out individual strands of Jasmin's blonde hair... I was rather skeptical about the bold claims Huawei were making about P20 Pro and was expecting to have one or two images worthy of publishing, and I ended up having over 100 edit-worthy images from the week to choose from and 41 making the final cut to be used on my own blog and media channels over the next few weeks..
