Whether they like to admit it or not, and on the outside, iPhone XS looks practically identical to iPhone X, except for gold finish. The poll, posted to YouTube right as preorders started, revealed most were opting for XS Max, while interestingly iPhone XS was the sought-after model, probably because it's identical to iPhone X... Apple boasted about Super Retina display and its gamut, HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, and iPhone X already supports all that. There's also some Face ID performance improvements on iPhone XS, and something that lot of people might not know is that Face ID's speed is enhanced on iPhone X with iOS 12. To be honest, iPhone X is already one of the fastest phones out there, and it can run anything on App Store, iPhone X wo not hold you back in any way... iPhone XS Max, on the other hand, lasts hour and longer, so that could spark someone's interest.. In short, this means iPhone XS will be protected in similar way as iPhone X would be fine in the shallow end. iPhone X supports 7.5W wireless charging, and people guessing iPhone XS supports up to around 10W, and no-one will know until Apple ships it... Generally, people want to perceive difference when they're spending money, and going from iPhone X to iPhone XS is the sort of situation that may feel like letdown.. then no, iPhone XS and XS Max are not worth the upgrade if you've already got iPhone X...
